Team D3 signs to be acquired by Global Leader Symetri

June 1, 2023

US expansion brings access to new services and technology for manufacturing, power & process and AECO clients.

Springfield, MO, USA – June 1, 2023, Team D3, one of the leading Autodesk Platinum Partners in the US, today announced it has signed an agreement to be acquired by Symetri, the global solution provider of digital BIM, product design and lifecycle solutions.

Symetri, who acquired US based Microdesk Inc in early 2022, is an Autodesk Platinum Partner with over 800 employees globally, and revenue of more than $290 million.

This acquisition will significantly increase Team D3’s footprint in the US market, enabling it to invest in bringing new services and technologies to its clients in the manufacturing, power & process, and AECO markets.

Clients will see no change to how they are supported, with the company continuing to operate under the Team D3 brand out of its existing offices. Clients will immediately benefit from an increase in the breadth of skills they can access, and a wider range of third-party technologies, including Symetri’s own products Naviate, Sovelia, and CQ.

Founded in 1999, Team D3 focuses on driving continuous innovation and improvement for clients in the manufacturing, power & process, and AECO industries. Inspired by an unrelenting passion for the clients they serve, Team D3 brings unrivalled expertise, proven processes, and advanced technologies to its 6,000+ clients. Headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, the company employs more than 200 team members generating revenues in excess of $120 million across its three brands (D3 Technologies, MG AEC Technology Partners, and ECAD).

Together, Team D3, Symetri and Microdesk will serve more than 400,000 daily users, 25,000 clients and have more than 1,000 employees across Europe and the US. Their combined resources will bring specialist industry capability and R&D capacity to its global client base, helping them find innovative ways to work smarter and more sustainably.

Kevin Schlack, CEO, Team D3 commented “When we began to consider strategic options to take Team D3 to the next level, one thing was clear, we wanted to partner with someone that put clients and innovation at the heart of everything they do. From the very beginning we were struck by the similar journeys our companies had been on, the closeness we felt to our clients, and the importance we place on having a great company culture. When we then looked at Symetri’s own IP and the investments they make every year in R&D, we realized the incredible value it could offer our clients. We are excited about joining Symetri and Microdesk and looking forward to building a successful global business for both our clients and our employees."

Jens Kollserud, CEO Symetri, explained, “After our successful acquisition of Microdesk last year, we were looking for an opportunity to expand our offering to our clients in the US. Team D3 is an excellent fit both strategically and operationally with their industry expertise and presence across the Midwestern United States. Together we will be able to deliver more technology, expertise and professional services across the manufacturing, power & process, and AECO industries.”
